Keep Your Chainsaw Sharp
Chainsaws take a beating, especially in Aussie backyards and bush blocks, so regular maintenance is essential. We service all major brands and models, including petrol-powered and small engine saws used in domestic, farming, and light commercial applications.
Common issues include hard starts, chain tension, overheating, dull blades, fuel clogs, and irregular idling. Our technicians check everything from the spark plug and air filter to the bar oil feed, ensuring your saw starts easily and cuts cleanly and safely every time you use it.
If you're not sure what’s wrong, we’ll do a full inspection and let you know exactly what your chainsaw needs. No unnecessary replacements, just reliable service. Whether it’s your go-to saw you use on the weekends or a spare you haven’t used in months, we’ll help you get the most out of your equipment. Make a booking today to get your chainsaw back in action.
Why won’t my chainsaw start?
If a chainsaw won’t start, the cause is usually issues with the fuel, spark, or air intake system. Old fuel is a common culprit; petrol left in the tank can degrade and clog the carburettor. A dirty spark plug may prevent ignition, while a blocked air filter can restrict airflow and cause the engine to flood.
Other possible issues include a stuck recoil starter, a faulty ignition coil, or a seized engine.
How often should I service my chainsaw?
You should service your chainsaw at least once a year, and more than that if you use it frequently. A basic service includes cleaning the air filter, inspecting the spark plug, sharpening the chain, checking the bar and chain tension, and cleaning the cooling fins.
Is it better to repair or replace a chainsaw?
It depends on the condition, age, and value of the saw. If your chainsaw is a well-known brand with a solid build, it’s usually worth repairing. Issues like a dull chain, clogged carburettor, or faulty spark plug are relatively low-cost fixes that restore full function.
